It appears to be based on many of the comments on this site, some expect a little too much from the film as Napoleon Dynamite.This is not art cinema ; s, folks. Absurd comedy of it. Do not go see this movie looking for deep meaning or well-constructed plot - vague hints about the plot is as artificial In as they come, and seems set mainly to give the film structure and allow viewers pretty happy ending. NO, Napoleon Dynamite is not to change the world - live action South Park her (Preston, Idaho, where the film is set, actually bears a strong resemblance to the real South Park, Colorado). Its very ironic, self-mocking, relentless run of sight gags and one-liners with no apparent purpose other than laugh at the expense of the main characters, especially the eponymous Napoleon, with matching stand-in for everyone whos ever felt like socially inept outcast trapped in hell high school.This film is not for everyone, but if you do not see your beautiful own childhood in various awkwardnesses and failures of the characters, you're in denial . Dont see Napoleon Dynamite, if you are expecting a sensitivity - go see it if you're angry at the world and just laugh. I saw her for the first time last night, and I have yet to break into spontaneous laughter when one of the stupid one liners or blank-faced Napoleon's dead-pan foreign sequitirs going to think.
